Indie is a beautiful Golden Retriever and Pyrenees mix. He's very sweet and loving, devoted to his foster mom. He was quite timid when he first came to us, but has made great strides in his socialization skills. He adapts to new situations and new people remarkably well now with just a little reassurance. Although he is doing much better, Indie does still feel intimidated by aggressive dogs. Placing him in a home with other dogs will have to be judged on a case by case basis. We were initially a little unsure if Indie would do well with small children because of his initial timidness. But, as you can see in the pics when Indie met the granddaughter of one of our volunteers, he was putty in her hands! Indie's very smart and learns new commands quickly.He has had some issues with housebreaking, but that is felt to be largely because he's in a home with several other dogs. Once he's in a calmer, quieter home and given a little extra attention initially, we're sure Indie will quickly learn the control he needs to be an integral part of the family. Indie who's 1-2 yrs old is fully grown, vaccinated on his yearly shots and neutered. He's negative for heartworms and on preventative.
